TIH 10

Thread needs solution

Hi,

Ive recently purchased a readynas duo, and cant get on with the Frontview software, so I want to try TIH. I brought TIH 10 a while back, but never really used it.

So, my main question is:

Is it possible to get TIH to back up actual folders, and not just the image? I want to be able to read the backed up data on the readynas from my laptop. If so, how do I do it?

It might be a dumb question, but I can't the answer - hence my post on here.

Cheers

Dave

Dave,

Is this TI 10 ro TI 2010 and what build?

Whether you backup Files and Folders or make a complete disk image, they will always be in a tib container. You can Explore both to gain access to data or with an image you can also mount it to act like a hard drive.

Colin,

Thanks for the reply.

It's TI 10 Home on Visa (if thats what you ment by build)

So, just to clarify, if I back up files and folders I can explore the 'tib container' from any other PC and see the files?

Dave

Dave,

No, you have to have a copy of TI installed to be able to explore a tib container.

If you check in the About box in TI 10 it will give you the build number, it will be a 4 digit number.

Dave,
Don't forget that TrueImage Home excels at recovery of your system onto either your old drive or a new larger drive.

The type backup that you need in order to do that recovery is a backup of your entire disk which includes any and all partitions include those which ar marked system or recovery, etc. And, if you create such an image, be sure that you validate that image.

An additional part of any recovery procedures is to test to see if your recovery procedures actually work so that means you should perform some restore procedures onto a test disk, etc. The time to make sure this all works is now before such a crisis occurs.
