TIH 2010/Windows 7 x64 Email notification problems
Howdy, Just installed True Image Home 2010 on my brand new Windows 7 x64 install and have had a couple of problems. The first was with the edit backup task taking forever (I fixed that by deleting and then recreating the Secure Zone, fyi) Now though, I can't get the email notification through Gmail working to save my life. When I had TIH 2009, I was able to get it work with the tricks shown here.
I've enabled POP in Gmail and tried every trick in that link and then some. Has anyone gotten a gotten email notification to work with Gmail in True Image Home 2010 yet?
thanks for any help,
Mark

I am having the same problem as Mark Wallace. I have tried every suggested configuration I could find and am still unable to configure Acronis True Image Home 2010 to send notifications to my GMail account. Please advice. BTW - I use Norton Internet Security 2010 and it is not reporting any issues with Acronis.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

same issue here. I CAN get email notification to work to other accounts I have NOT been able to get TI_2010 to work with gmail accounts. This is not a show stopper for me as I have a workaround but I am interested as to if there is a solution.

I was able to successfully set up Gmail with Windows 7 64-bit and ATI-2010 today. Here's how I did it:
E-mail address: yourname@gmail.com (NOTE - I did NOT use <> brackets. If I do, it doesn't work.)
Outgoing mail server: smtp.gmail.com
Set port: 465
User name: yourname@gmail.com
Password: duh
Under additional parameters, Do NOT check "Log on to incoming mail server".
(NOTE - I did temporarily check the box, enter pop.gmail.com and 995 under server and port, then uncheck the box. Probably not necessary.)
Encryption: SSL
Subject: (I do have a subject line, it works fine.)
From: (I do have a from line, it works fine.)
I have all 4 boxes checked for notification options. I'm assuming that you can pick whatever you want.

YES!
your instructions work.
yes you DO need to use 465
yes, there is NOT a need to log into incomming server,
yes, you do NOT need to enter the boxes for pop.gmail.com/995
yes you DO neeed to use SSL (this is the step I missed in all my testing)
yes you can pick whatever you want for the 4 check boxes.
Matt Luszcz - just wanted to say Thank you.

No problem, glad it worked for you. It's a good thing this software works well, because the user interface and the "help" can be atrocious.

I had notifications working prior to upgrading to Windows 7. After the upgrade, it stopped working. Removing the brackets "<" ">" around the email address solved this.

Matt,
Your suggestion worked for me too. The two items I had not set correctly were the
Port to 465 and the Encryption to SSL. Once those two were set, the mail worked OK.
Thanks.
