TIH 2012 Multiboot Activation [ISSUE RESOLVED!!!]

Thread needs solution

I originally asked about TIH 2012 license activation on a single multiboot system under the old forum at http://forum.acronis.com/forum/24167 and got several replies differing from what the Acronis posted license info seems to imply about covering "one physical machine". So I promised to post any "official" reponse that I received directly from Acronis Support. Here it is:

Post edited, private information posted.

That seems fully consistent with the license info posted by Acronis, but inconsistent with some other answers posted in these forums. So I haven't actually tried multiboot installation and activation yet. Has anyone else?

I would bet that opinion of a Product Unit Manager here http://forum.acronis.com/forum/24161#comment-74088 is more close to reality than an interpretation of the license agreement by a Support Professional.

Perhaps, but in that case it's inconsistent with the license info posted by Acronis saying that it's "one perpetual license for one physical machine." And yes, misleading advertising certainly does "suck", not to mention being illegal in most countries.

Here below is my request [ ref:00D3Zcb.5005DSsoJ:ref ] for "authoritative" clarification and I'll also post any follow-up reply that I receive.

Hi Vikas.

Well, now I am VERY confused.  Your reply is exactly contrary to an answer that was posted recently by the Product Unit Manager in the Acronis forums at http://forum.acronis.com/forum/24161#comment-74088

Your own answer seems entirely consistent with the license info that is currently posted by Acronis saying that it's "one perpetual license for one physical machine."  But the answer from the Product Unit Manager would seem to contradict that license information as currently advertised by Acronis.  The confusion therefore makes me afraid to try multiboot activations in case it messes up my primary TIH 2012 installation completely.

Could you clarify please.  Which is the correct authoritative answer?  Does a single licence and activation actually apply to all TIH 2012 installations under multiple OSes on the same physical machine, or does it not?

Regards,
Richard

FOLLOW-UP AS PROMISED -- The copy below of my reply to a phone call that I received from Acronis Support is, I think, self-explanatory:

This is to let you know that I now have True Image Home 2012 (and its Plus Pack) installed and validated under all three operating systems on my single machine platform using a single license as advertised.

My sincere gratitude goes to the Acronis support person who took the time to call me personally last evening to discuss the issue.  (I'm sorry, Sir, that I didn't quite catch your name as you were speaking very quickly and I didn't want to interrupt you again to ask you to repeat several times.)  Your insistence, despite some posted comments indicating otherwise, that what I wanted to do should work just fine and that you would be fully prepared to assist me with any resulting problems gave me the needed assurance to proceed with multiple installations.  It all went very smoothly and there was no problem whatever with any of the three installed multiboot set-up's validations.

In conclusion, I want you to know that your extra effort to be helpful was a very refreshing and much appreciated gesture.  It has gone a long way to restoring my faith in a company for whose products, very frankly, my long-term loyalty was being tested quite seriously. Thank you very much.

Please feel free to contact me again if you have any follow-up questions.  If not, you can consider the issue to be closed.

Best regard,
Richard
