TIH 2014 back-up muiltiple P/Cs to single external HDD

Thread needs solution

I have a question on the best way to be able to back-up personal files from two P/Cs on a home network to an external hard drive located on one of those P/Cs; install the software on the P/C with the external drive and 'reach out' to the other P/C via Windows 7 sharing (or User Account) to back-up the 'remote' files also (two separate back-up schedules), or install the software on both P/Cs and have the target drive for both back-ups be the HDD on the one P/C. I have it set-up the first way right now, but it often states that both back-ups were unable to complete - had "errors" - due to not being able to access all of the files (interestingly on both P/Cs).

Thank you very much.

This is the preferred and also the only legal way from a license. Each PC being backed up needs its own license.
