Transferring Files Only To A New Hard Drive or Computer

I purchased Acronis True Image only to protect my data (files, pictures, video, music) and I'm finding the program a bit bewildering. The user manual is confusing.

Backing up these things to I have to do a differential backup every day? I would like to be be able to back up my files only once a week. Would I do this manually? If I do it manually once a week will I then have to manuall delete the older back ups?

If my computer or hard drive were to die, can I then install the program on the new PC and restore the files to the new drive? This is a bit vague to me in the documentation. I'm not doing an entire disk image, I just want to make sure that I can copy this information to the new system or drive. I don't mind reinstalling my programs.

Does this software support 64 bit computers? The next time I install Windows 7 I want to make my system 64 bit.

So to sum it up, does this software allow the transfer of data files from one system or hard to another provided True Image is installed on the new machine or disk?

The answer to all your questions (including confusing manual) is yes.

When setting up your automatic backup you can define the days between backups, differential/incremental or complete backups et cetera.

As long as you are installing the program to a new PC that has an SSD drive be careful regarding alignment (trust me, this issue is even more confusing than their manual).

Will work on 64-bit systems.

Will allow transfer of data files from one system to another if Acronis is installed on the new machine.
