True home image Harddrive clone stops before finishing

Thread needs solution

I have True Home Image 10 build 4942. I start the Hard disc clongin process go through the automatic mode do all the things to clone my primary drive. The computer goes into reboot and then starts to the copying procedure and at about 28% it stops (about 15 minutes). I have done this twice now and the computer screen goes blank and basically shutsdown.

What is wrong help???

You will get best results with the fewest problems if you perform the clone when booted from the TI Rescue CD. Using the CD, removes Windows from any issues. If you want a little more help, click on my signature link below and review item 7-C inside my index.

Cloning Risks:
In theory, there should be no risk to the source drive during cloning as the disk is only read. In practice, however, there has been far too many postings of something going wrong during the process. Sometimes it is the operator choosing the wrong disk and cloning the blank onto the master; other times, the power fails during the process; at other times, the computer freezes and the the drive is lost. Simply stated, why take the risk of cloning when it takes on a few minutes longer to do the restore and the master disk is not even connected.
