True Image 10 - Mount of incremental backup hangs on Analyzing Partition

Thread needs solution

I have True Image 10 on Vista and have a series of weekly incremental backups + the original full backup on a WD MyBook USB connected drive.

For the first time, I am trying to recover data from an incremental backup taken a couple of weeks ago. True Image shows that this backup was successful.

I think that I have worked out the sequence of tasks required to do this and am trying to get to a stage where I can Explore the backup sp that I can restore the data I need.

The first thing I did I therefore was to Mount the backup and this resulted in a an - Analyzing partition ‘4-1.. message being displayed. I left this for 26 hours before concluding that it was never going to end. CPU activity was 2-5% while it ran and there was some RAM usage so something was going on.

I have the latest True Image 10 build. The MyBook drive has loads of spare space and I cannot find anything on the forum that seems to address this problem.

Does anyone have any ideas on this?
I would also be interested if anyone has successfully restored data from an incremental back, to learn the sequence of tasks that were used to do this. I may have got this wrong and the Acronis documentation does not include a step by step guide to doing this.

Thanks

If you are wanting to restore only a few files from the incremental, why not try
(This procedure does not use the Restore option.)
Open Explorer
Browse to the *.tib folder containing the incremental.
Right click on the *.tib incremental
Choose the Explore option.
Browse to the backup folder of interest inside the *.tib file
Copy/drag & drop or Copy/paste the files of interest.

The above is assuming that you do not want to restore the entire incremental plus the required master base file.
