True Image 13 save and restore backups to laptop SDXC card

Thread needs solution

Been reading the forums and Google and haven't got a good answer yet.

Basically I want to know if I can buy say a 64gb or 128gb SDXC card and keep it in my sd card reader slot on my laptop to save and restore backups. I read there may be some driver issues but wanted some opinions on doing this. I also read not to create a secure zone on the SD card. I really want to use the sd card as I never use the card reader and it seems like it would be a great way to always have a good backup in case of disaster.

Any thoughts on this?

I've not tried this; if TI recognises the SD card as a place that can store images there is some chance this will work. This will depend on how the SD card reports itself to your hardware, if as a removable hard drive you are OK.

Probably the biggest problem will be concerning restoring an image. Check that your True Image recovery CD can boot and see the SD reader, if it can't boot or doesn't see the card reader you have a problem. Unfortunately i don't think there is a trial version of the PlusPack, whilst running a Windows PE version with the correct card reader drivers should work, you might still find a problem depending on how the card reader and the card reports themselves.
