True Image 2011 (6868 and 6857) Error 9

Thread needs solution

Just moved from Maxblast to the official True Image 2011. Running xp SP3. When trying to restore an image inside windows, the process fails with error 9 (... file corrupt). Although I didn't think there was anything wrong with the disk, I ran diskcheck anyway and it came up clean.

I tried to follow the process for trying to fix/document this issue on the acronis website but that either didn't work or I didn't do it correctly.

I can boot from the boot disk and restore the image so it's just a problem with the windows gui.

Can anyone suggest a fix because it I can't restore via windows, what's the point of ATI?

Bob,

Well, restoring from Windows should work, but is not recommended. I don't have a special fix for your problem if you went through the kb already. Is the backup in the Acronis Secure Zone? Did you change any file attribute on the TIB file?

I'm not sure what the acronis secure zone is. I did not change any attributes or anything. The image was taken last night. This morning I added a programs and instead of going through the bother/hassle of removing it, I just went to restore the image from last night (also, I've never restored an image w/ ati ... only maxblast ... many times successfully ... and wanted to make sure it worked w/ ati. It didn't.)

Strange how maxblast (which I got for free with a hard drive) can do something flawlessly that the paid version can't do at all.

Hello Bob and Pat,

Thank you for posting and thank you for your help Pat.

Bob, I let me assist you please.

Could you get back to us with a screenshot of the error message, this report and let us know your backup location please.

It is possible this issue is caused by errors on the hard drive.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.
