True Image 2011 doesn't see partitions

Thread needs solution

I have an ASUS G55V laptop. I caanot create partition images because True Image doesn't list any partitions in the "Disk Backup" section. (It worked on my previous laptop.)

If I go to "File Backup", it shows all of the partitions and files.

Is this a bug fixed in 2012?

Thanks!

Try following step 1-5 at the above link. This is a 2012 example but should be the same for 2011. The remaining examples may be of interest as well.

I'm afraid I wasn't clear. I am trying to create a disk image for use if the machine dies. I boot from the True Image disk but no hard drive partitions are shown. I can back up files, but I am trying to create a restorable image. I don't have the options described when running under Windows.

Your new laptop has the Intel® HM77 Chipset. The Linux based bootable Recovery Disk more than likely does not have support for that in the 2011 version. Even if you can make a disk based backup in Windows using 2011, your bootable disk will not be able to restore to your new system from your 2011 Recovery Disk. I can't say for sure that ATIH 2012 has support for that chipset in the 2012 Recovery Disk, but you could download the 2012 trial and test it. If you have the 2011 Plus Pack, you could build a WinPE 3.0/3.1 bootable Recovery Disk based on Windows 7 and test that as well.

Thanks for your great comment. I discovered that this is a UEFI system, maybe going along with the HM77 chipset, and the drive is GPT. ATIH2012 worked!
