True Image 2013
Hi
Every time I log on to true image I get an error message at the bottom of the screen saying The hardware ID has changed, with the option of change serial number or activate now, I click activate now and it says the activation was successful, this is fine until the next time I log on, and it appears again, every day
Is there a simple fix ?
Thanks

Patrick, from looking at other reports of similar problems with 'hardware id has changed' the advice has been to perform a repair install of the product which has resolved the issue.
To do a repair install, just reinstall the ATIH 2013 installation program and take the option to Repair when offered. If you don't have a copy of the 2013 installer, you can sign in to your Acronis Account (click on My Account) and provided you have registered the software to that account, you can re-download the product installer again.

Hi
Sorry, didnt explain it properly, I bought the original 2007 ATI and updated in 2011 and updated again only three months ago to the 2013 as it was on offer, all the updates were to this machine, what I meant by logging in, was every time I start the Acronis True Image program I see the message at the bottom appear that informs me of a Harware change etc, so I reactive and everything is fine till the next time I start the program.
I have gone back into my account and downloaded it again and clicked the repair installation, I had the 2007, 2011, 2013 versions all registerd to my account
I have been through the repair process and ensured everything was updated, created a new bootable media, and then closed the program and restarted it, but again the error message of Hardware ID change, either reactive or enter new serial number has come up ?
I have tried to get support from Acronis, but this must be the worst site in the world to get a simple request actioned, hence my try on the forum, and thank you both for your responses, I was thinking of updating to 2016, but I think I will look at other back up programs, I only use it for a single computer, but having suffered a crash many years ago and the windows back up not functioning, I dont want to be without a back up program.
Any suggestions to help fix this, or recommendations on other comparable back up programs would be much appreciated?
Thanks Pat

Patrick have you tried uninstalling TI 2013 using the cleanup tool https://kb.acronis.com/content/34876 and then reinstalling?

Hi
No, I just tried the repair installation and reinstalled it, I suppose if nothing else, I could remove and reinstall, I just didn't want to have to go through the set up procedure again, but if no other option left I would have to do this, just a shame Acronis hides away access to its support which may already have come across this, hence plan B, remove TI and install something more reliable ?

Hello Patrick,
Could you please try the following:
Check if there are download.acronis.com entries in the hosts file on your PC and remove them:
- Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
- Open the hosts file in the Notepad.
- Search for entries containing download.acronis.com
- Remove the entries if there are any.
If the issue persists please do not hesitate to contact support team. We always provide free support for all activation and recovery issues with Acronis True Image.
Thank you,

I have tried to raise a support issue but Acronis does not now support True Image 2013, I have checked the host files and cannot see any reference to download.Acronis.com
Any other suggestions please, or how I can contact the support team ?

Hello Patrick,
I've sent you a PM to discuss the situation. As I stated, the activation issues (with all Acronis True Image versions) are supported without any limitations.
Thank you,
