True Image 2013 by Acronis not responding

Thread needs solution

I just installed True Image 2013 by Acronis on my computer (Windows 8, 64 bits) and when I launch the program I see the Home Menu but I can't choose anything, I get the message "Ne répond pas" (Not responding).
Any help please

Same here!?
Upon attempting to start, receive the following window"

********************************************************************
Diskeeper Professional Edition
Unable to connect to the Diskeeper service running on JAMIEHP. Please make sure that the Diskeeper service
is running and that no other instance of Diskeeper is connected to this machine. If the service is running,
restart it and try again.

I purchased and installed on a new laptop running Windoze 8 64bit without any issues approximately
a month ago. Diskeeper appeared to function properly following initial installation. Recently, upon attempting to start the
program, I received the message above.

Have not had any other issues with laptop. Would appreciate any information on how to get Diskeeper up and
running.

Thanks!

James,

Are you running Acronis software on this machine as well, or have you posted your question on the wrong vendors Forum?

James,

Oh my, yes, I do run both of these programs- Sorry for the goof, I was on this site reading up on ATI 2013 which I also installed on my new laptop!!!

Appreciate the response!

James

Acronis 2013 has several possible services and filter drivers that MAY conflict with Diskeeper, but I can not verify that as I don't run Diskeeper.

First is, the disk filter driver that gets installed by True Image 2013 that allows the software to create backups of your system while running (live backup). These have been referred to in the past as Snapman and/or SnapAPI drivers http://kb.acronis.com/content/1512. This is loaded for every disk on the system including external drives. I would suspect if there is an incompatibility with Diskeeper this may be the issue.

In addition, 2013 loads a few services that could also be the culprit.
They are:
Nonstop backup service
Sync service
Acronis Scheduler service

Even if you do not use the Nonstop backup or sync portions of 2013, the services are running.
The Acronis scheduler service could be an issue, but not likely.

Additionally, you should apply this patch http://forum.acronis.com/forum/38423#comment-122173 that helps with stability issues in True Image 2013 on Windows 8.

Please let us know what resolution you find to your issue with Diskeeper.

I just reloaded my OS and upgraded to Diskeeper 2013 Home. When I tried to reinstall my version of Acronis True Image, I got a message box that flashed up and was gone again but I think it said something about changing system settings. Now the start menu folder for Diskeeper and True Image are both empty. I can not remove them and I get a message that says I don't have the administrator privilege to perform this. Additionally, when I try to reinstall Diskeeper it won't even add a desktop icon. Neither programs show up in the uninstall program. Any ideas on how I can fix this? I would appreciate any thoughts on this problem.
