True Image 2014 not working for Image creation /restore WIndows 7
Dear all
I am upgrading my hard disk to SSD & for that creating Image of 97GB OS partition. I have created image successfully ,however when In restore it on SSD or on any other disk I am getting various errors like boot loder missing etc.
I think something is wrong in selecting MBR /track 0 and 100mb partition.
DO I need to select all 3 options ( main Os partition , MBR ,track 0 & other system reserved) while both creating and restoring partition?
I have created 60GB partition on SSD.
Pls. let me know where I am wrong.
Thank you
Regards
james

Dear tuttle Thank you so much for quick support & help.
I think there is no need to take backup of entire data ( On a 1Tb hard disk there could be large amount of data on other partitions)
I am facing issue in restoration of Image in following situations. I am wondering how True Image 2014 is not working as advertised.
Source Disk
97.66GB OS win7 32 Bit + 100MB system reserved Partition -------- created disk image by selecting both partitions
Target DIsk
120GB SSD
I wanted to have 2 partitions 55GB C drive & remaining D Drive in MBR format
There is no way I could do this using acronis True Image 2014. I am forced to do following procedure
1) connect SSD to another PC
2) Create 100MB primary active partition
3)create 55Gb Partition
I will have to manually change location for both drives & specify partition type while restoration.
Why cant true image has technology & feature to restore Image on different size partition with simple steps? Acronis development team must take feedback of this. I am sad & despite spending money I am not getting satisfactory performance.

Hi Everyone
Can someone give me solution for this Pls? Acronis support ,I am eager to hear from you.

I don't understand why you don't use my proposed solution. Yes, it could be a large backup, but so what? A full disk mode Backup captures everything, and is the simplest, safest backup method.

It is possible to do a patition by partioon restore and to exclude certain data from being restored from a backup file. These proceedures are quite involved and require a sigificant amount of work on the users part to accomplish but Acronis can accomodate such a restore if the user desires. Acronis allows for an easy restore operation as tuttle has outlined but if the user desires or must perform a more involved process to achieve a needed end result the application is up to that task as well.
I would suggest you spend the time reading through the Web Help Files (Link on left side of Forum pages) and Grovers help guides covering your particular needs for a restoration. If you have questions after that about procedures outlined or clarification on the documentation then ask those here on the Forum.
Your issue with being unable to boot your restored drive given it is an SSD can be something as simple as a partiton left out of the restore process (yes you need to restore all 3 partitions) to harware related issues.
Please do some homework, increase your understanding of the applications features and capabiities, then post back with any questions you have.

Dear Enchantech
Thanks for your post ,
Unfortunately your post does not outline any laid down procedure or any help in resolving this issue
Since you have more expertise and knowledge and have done lot of homework , pls. explain me how you will restore image in following case scenarios
1) While Restoring image on windows 7 ,True Image 2014 asks for installation path for both C ( reserved partition 100Mb) and OS partition D -- Right?
2) Pls. explain Me In case target disk has following case scenarios & How to restore Image in each case -
a) Disk is already having 2 partitions C:\ 60GB D:\ 50GB ( No resevered partition of 100MB)
b) Disk has no partitions
c) There is unallocated space of 40GB and extended plus logical drives. How to create 100Mb reserved partition and remaining OS patition in unallocated space
Waiting to get higher knowledge from you
Thank you

Dear Tuttle
Your solution is completely baseless and irrelevant .
My specific query is related to restoration of OS only ,it has nothing to do with other data on other partitions.
As per your suggestion I will have to buy another 2 TB disk to backup all data on on my 1 TB disk & wait for a day or two while restotation is get completed. A completely stupid answer or suggestion. Pls. try to understand original query before answering.
