True Image 2014 - Verification failing due to wrong location?

Thread needs solution

I recently rearranged some files and changed where I wanted my backups to be made.

Old setup:

Backing up "Drive C:" to "Drive Y:".

New setup:

Backing up "Drive C:" to "Drive W:"

So I deleted all my old backups by selecting delete "whole backup - files and settings", then I created a new backup with the new target drive W.

I then select "backup now" and confirmed that that the backup file was actually being written to drive W. At the 50% mark when the verification states starts, the target drive still flashed it's LED showing it was being used so it looks like the backup was being verified.

However at the end of the backup I got a pop error message:

Here's my log:

*Note: Drive W: resolves to \\MYBOOKLIVEDUO\Backups\Tower

So you can see that it's correctly saving the backup to my Drive W, but it's trying to read the backup from Drive Y:

I've tried completely removing all backup and setting 3 times now. Rebooting between each attempt trying to get True Image to "forget" about drive Y but it keeps doing it.

How can I fix this?

Chris, for this problem I would recommend renaming or deleting the C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Database folder which has XML files holding history information for your backups and which may be retaining a memory of your previous drive letter.

Note: You may need to ensure that all Acronis programs / services are stopped before trying the above so as to avoid any locked files.

Thanks Steve. That fixed it.

There must be a bug in the deletion of old backup data that cause it.
