True Image 2015 Boot Media boot into black screen

Thread needs solution

Hello.
I enabled "On Boot Recovery" but after initial Acronis boot screen I see black screen and nothing more. I have tried almost all kernel options and combinations but nothing helped.
Than I have tried to switch BIOS options, finally I found an option which helped, in my BIOS it's called "iGPU Multi-Monitor" and disabling that option made boot media usable.
I hope Acronis will fix that in future releases.

UPD my PC configuration
CPU Intel Core i5-3570K
RAM Kingston KHX1600C9D3/8GX x 2
M/B ASUS P8Z77-V LE PLUS chipset Intel Z77
Video NVIDIA GeForce GTX 470

Hi, I see that you also have problems with the black screen and you also have a Nvidia gtx graphics card. Acronis should finally react and publish a fix.

My system is similar to m.hattifnatt's configuration: i2600k, ASUS Maximus Extreme IV Z, and GTX560ti SLI.

I encountered the same - booting into a black screen from a True Image 2015 rescue media. Likewise, setting Init iGPU to disabled in the BIOS solved the issue. It seems like True Image 2015 rescue media has an issue with motherboards which support Intel CPUs with iGPU capabilities. The True Image 2014 rescue disk works fine without having to disable the iGPU. I am disappointed that it seems I paid for the upgrade to degrade. I hope Acronis comes up with a fix shortly.

Hello Everyone,

thank you for your postings!

B.H., Pavel, m.hatifnatt, would it be possible to enable "iGPU Multi-Monitor" option in BIOS back and after that check if starting Acronis bootable media with "nomodeset" parameter could solve the problem?

Please let me know the result and also create a system report from bootable media of Acronis True Image 2015 and from the bootable media of an older Acronis True Image version (of course if you have one).

Thank you in advance!

I am having the same issue and am unable to make these modifications in my BIOS (I don't seem to have the iGPU Multi-Monitor feature. I'm have an ASUS P8Z68 motherboard and a GTX570 card.

Anna.Trifonova, do you have any suggestions? Chat customer support has been no help.

I researched the forum before posting and setting nomodeset was the first thing I tried but didn't resolve the issue. I will create and send the system report when I get around to it.

Hi there,

I had the same issue with my PC.
I have an ASUS GTX 980 and a Intel Core i7. So I went into the BIOS and switched the i7 GPU into my GPU of choice and TADAAAA... i can use the boot disk now. Hope it works for you guys too.

Dan
