True Image Home 2010 Nonstop Backup on laptop and using Stand by rather than shutting down.

Thread needs solution

I am using ATIH2010 Nonstop Backup on a laptop I use for work, continuously backing up a single hard drive with two partitions to an externally connected USB drive. The laptop runs Windows XP SP3. The laptop is "turned off" in the early evening and remains offline until the morning. From a shut down state, it takes quite some time to boot up to a point where it is usable. In order to speed up that boot up process every morning, I normally do not shut down the computer in the evening and instead I "suspend" it, using the Windows stand by option. Usually on Friday evenings, I actually shut the laptop down completely ("shut down" option) where it normally remains offline until Monday morning.

I have noticed that Nonstop backup seems to act "odd" (one partition appears to be backing up regularly every 5 minutes where another is not) and I am wondering if the manner in which I am suspending the laptop in the evenings may contribute to that. Is ATIH2010 Nonstop Backup robust enough to deal with these shutdowns and Stand bys? Or is there a "best practice" of how I use Nonstop Backup? For example, should I manually stop it every evening before I stand by or shut down and then manually start it again in the mornings after turning the computer back on?

Any advice would be helpful!

Regards,
Michael
