True Image Home 2012 GUI Not Appearing
I've been using Acronis True Image Home 2012 on Windows 7 SP1 64 bit laptop for over a year. Suddenly the ATIH 2012 is no longer starting correctly. When loading the program the GUI does not appear; however I can see TrueImage.exe showing up in the TaskManager. What could be wrong here?
Thanks,
Riskybiz.

Ok I tried a to install an updated version of Acronis True Image Home 2012 over the top of the existing faulty version (Downloaded: ATIH2012_7133_en-EU for this). The faulty behaviour continued........The GUI will show on a few occasions after install; but then typically after the PC has hibernated and resumed then it is faulty again.
Next I uninstalled True Image 2012, then used the Cleanup Utility, then checked the relevant registry entries as instructed. Restarted the computer did a clean install of True Image 2012 (ATIH2012_7133_en-EU); but this just resulted in the same behaviour the GUI will not appear for more than a few times that True Image is loaded. Seems True Image is broken..........

Perhaps on your PC. This is not a widespread problem.
Do you have similar issues with any other applications or Windows components?

Everything else is working fine on this computer. No other problems at all. Just the Acronis True Image backup software is not performing. It was a sudden change in behaviour; I had not made changes to the system. I really expect better of paid-for backup software.

Yeah, yeah, we heard you. Stuff happens on computers. We don't know that this is caused by an Acronis issue - it could be some interaction with some other software or a recent change to your Windows setup. You said that it had been working properly, and then suddenly developed this issue, so likely something changed on your system that has affected True Image.
Do you know exactly when the issue first appeared? Did you install or uninstall anything shortly prior to that?

Right; I don't want a circular argument about how this is a problem caused by some mysterious change on the problem PC. There have been no substantive changes to my knowledge; no software added or removed. The fact is that Acronis True Image was scheduled to make a full disk image to the Acronis Secure Zone right when this problem appeared. I think that task began but am unsure as to whether it completed as the True Image software started playing up right then; when it should have been taking a scheduled backup. I have now uninstalled True Image and removed the ASZ. If you can offer nothing further than uninstall then reinstall or it's an unknown mysterious change which is peculiar to this computer; then please don't bother to reply.

No circular argument. Mysterious stuff sometimes happens on PCs. In this case, it seems better just to correct the issue rather than to spend inordinate time attempting to discover the source of the problem.
If it were me, I would do this:
disable the Secure Zone and the Acronis Startup Recovery Manager
uninstall True Image
run the Cleanup utility and make the registry changes.
Reboot
msconfig | Disable all non-microsoft services, and disable all Startup items
Reboot
Install Acronis True Image
msconfig | Select Normal Startup
Reboot
