True Image Home 2012 Sync fails - "the resource is locked"

Thread needs solution

Win7x64 SP1, external disk connected. After I create a sync, nothing happens and the log shows a red X and states "the resource is locked." This is happening with 4 different folds I am trying to sync. Then it says the synchronization has finished, with no content in the newer folder I want the data to sync with. I need this to work, otherwise this is a worthless feature. What do you recommend?

Same problem running Vista 64 bit SP2 with an i7 CPU and 18 GB of ram, not a minimal system. Event log shows that it finds the drive and folder to sync to and starts the sync. Then two "The resource is lock" error massages appear for which the details are "An unknown error has occurred". The error log then says "The synchronization has finished" followed by the start message, then a number of changes have been found (there are 36 new files to sync), then the double error messages, and repeat the process. I let this run for several hours. Same problem when started after warm reboot or the next day after cold start.

Same problem for me, on a Windows 7 Ultimate 64bits, with 4gb of RAM, and a QNAP T209 PRO connected with LAN

(laptop and QNAP hard-wired to the router, no wi-fi)
QNAP is visible from PC (although it could sometimes take a couple of seconds before I see it in my network when pressing the icon)
QNAP runs SAMBA.

Behavior of ATIH 2012:

I get the following message repeated a couple of time
Changes have been detected in folder "C:\Users\Bernard\Pictures"

Then, the "X" in red, with a smaller font saying "The resource is locked." an hyperlink "View details" that tells me "An unknown error has occured."

This error is repeated twice.
Then a pair of messages saying
"The synchronization will be forced in 5-10 minutes."
"The Syncrhonization has finished."

This is repeated twice, within 12 seconds

And the process restarts, with the same errors after 5 minutes.

Could it be the delay Windows takes to discover the QNAP that causes ATIH to say the resource is not available ?

Got the same problem, I am dowgrading to 2011 I had enough of this crappy version.. too many issues

I know that can sound weird, but stopped and restarted the service and is working, doesn't make too much sense, probably just luck

When you say "stopped and restarted the service"...
Are you talking about

  • an ATIH service on the PC running Windows 7?
On my PC, I see afcdpsrv, which is described as Acronis Nonstop Backup Service), I also see syncagentsrv (Acronis Scheduler 2 Service) and syncagentsrv (Acronis Sync Agent Service)
  • an ATIH process on the PC running Windows 7?
I have schedhlp.exe (Acronis Scheduler Helper) and TrueImageMonitor.exe (Acronis True Image Monitor) running
  • a service running on the NAS?
(like the Samba service running on my QNAP NAS)

Hi Bernard,

I did stop
AcrSch2Svc

I did also disabled
\Acronis\TrueImageHome\schedhlp.exe
\Acronis\TrueImageHome\TrueImageMonitor.exe

Restarted the pc
I Maually restarted the processes first
Then the service

The green icon finally appeared on the source directory but Acronis was keeping telling me that the resource was locked.
But at the same time I noticed that the destination directory started to be populated.
When the syncronisation was completed the error message disappeared
