True Image Home 2012 won't boot up

Thread needs solution

My installation of True Image Home 2012 is causing intermittant problems.

When I try to run the control panel by selecting Acronis True Image Home from my programs menu, it appears to be starting. Windows User account control pops up and asks if I would like to allow Acronis to make changes to my computer, which of course I answer yes to. Next thing a timer comes up to indicate the program is launching, then nothing.

Occasionally, after a reboot, it launches into the usual interface but then it doesnt the next time. I have run a repair on the installation and even done another clean install with the latest version. Still the same problem.

If I check Windows task manager processes, Trueimage.exe*32 is running and the sceduled backups appear to be getting done, but I cant access the control panel to check the status.

Is anyone else having this problem and have you found a solution. Im running Windows 7 64bit.

Thanks

Hello Burystone,

Thank you for using Acronis software.

The reported problem may have several causes. To narrow down the cause I have found a suitable guide in this article from our Knowledge Base.

Before, I would consider whether the problem can be caused possibly by other programs. You can temporarily disable the virus scanner and then try Acronis True Image Home 2012 launch.
If this works, I would recommend Acronis True Image Home to the list of trusted applications.
The same applies here for the firewall.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.
