True Image Home not loading from rescue disk or boot F11 command

Thread needs solution

I am trying to test the evaluation copy of True Image Home for my new Dell Laptop. I want to see it backup and restore before i purchase.

It backs up fine but wen i try to restore an image from the True Image application (when Windows7 is running) it experiences an error. So i try to run the restore from the rescue disk, the software loads to the point where it gives the option of running Acronis True Image or continue running Windows 7, if i choose to run True Image i get an error and it loads Windows. The same thing happens when i load use the boot F11 command.

the error message I get is:
Cannot load module 'st' - no such file exists
Acronis: Cannot load module /lib/modules/floppy.iso - no such device
reading all physical volumes

* at this ponit it starts to load Windows.

Hello William,

I will do everything possible in order to resolve the issue you experience with Acronis True Image Home 2010.

First of all can you please clarify the exact error message you receive when you try to restore the image in Windows?

Acronis bootable disc and F11 option use the same Linux environment so the source of the issue is the same for both cases. I suspect that the problem can be lack of drivers under Linux. I have sent you ISO image of Acronis bootable disc based on ISOLinux loader. ISOLINUX Bootable Media is more up to date than the Acronis Loader one and it will probably solve the issue.

In order to investigate the issue in Windows please attach Acronis Report to your next reply. Download Acronis Report utility available here and run it. Please compress the Acronis Report output file into an archive (e.g. with WinZip). This would provide us with detailed information on the hard disk partition structure.

Looking forward for your reply.

Thank You.
