True Image ran once, now fails to respond on Win 8 system

Thread needs solution

I'm using a Dell vostro 3300 running Win 8 Pro on a Core i3 with 8 GB of RAM. I initially installed True Image 2013 and successfully activated it, ran it once, and since then it fails to respond. I've tried using the Cleanup utility followed by reinstalling, but every time the initial screen comes up and that's it--no response. In frustration, I recovered the system from the initial backup, with the same result! I'm absolutely stumped. I've been using and fighting with True Image releases since 9...when it works, it's super, and when it doesn't it's aggravating as heck...

Sounds similar to the problem I have just encountered, also on a Dell Vostro with Win 8 Pro, i7 processor and 8GB RAM. Not having done a back up for about six weeks (I have been busy elsewhere) I find that Acronis 2013 is not responding. I have restarted computer, turned external HDD on and off, tried a different external HDD, gone off and cleaned the kitchen floor, and all I get is the message "loading please wait" in Acronis start up window.

Suggestions please!
