True Image recreates deleted directories
I formatted a drive to use for backup. When I started True Image, deleted directories reappeared on the drive. I repeated, formatting again, and again the directories reappeared as soon as I started True Image. I see some allusion to this in the manual with regard to sync, but I don't have or want a sync account and I'm not using that feature.
This is extremely obnoxious and unacceptable behavior, and if there's no way to prevent it, True Image is permanently coming off all my machines.
I'm using True Image 2015 build 6525 which it declares to be up to date.

I agree.
But I don't have a sync account.
And it recreates three deleted directories.

Hello nom de TI,
do I understand correctly that you are not signed in to your account in the product, but the directories are re-created by each program start?
Can you please copy directory names here?
Thank you.

Yes, that is correct.
The names of the directories were:
2014-12-16_
Beth BU daily 2013-10-01 to 2013-11-20
Beth BU daily 2013-11-21 to 2013-12-09
Those were directories which had been on the disk at an earlier time but had been deleted. Even formatting the drive did not prevent True Image from recreating them as soon as it started. The recreated directories are empty.

Hello nom de TI,
I'm sorry for the delayed answer.
Apparently the directories are recreated by a backup task which wasn't completely deleted.
Please do the following:
1) remove all backup plans from the backup list
2) close the program and delete all scheduled tasks with "task zap" command using Acronis Scheduler Manager
3) delete following folders:
C:\ProgramData\Acronis\Home\Database
C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Database
C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts
C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\ArchiveOptions
4) Check if the directories stopped being recreated after program start.
Thank you.

Thanks. But I've already uninstalled True Image 2015 and reinstalled an earlier version. The program should not recreate deleted directories under any conditions, and it should not be necessary to undo what it has done. That was only one of several problems I had with it, and the user interface is awful. I'm sorry to see what you've done with what was a very good program, and I won't be using it again.

Hi nom de TI,
I'm sorry to know that you are not satisfied with Acronis True Image 2015 and please be sure that I'll forward your feedback regarding interface to development.
Thank you.

I have the same issue with TrueImage 2017-
I created a personal folder on my backups drive "Old BackUps to Delete"; later i manually deleted it.
Now it and several other old directories are being recreated empty when i run a backup(not recovery).
I like Acronis TI 2017-
While there are users that get great value out of Acronis Cloud, I don't.
I find it aggravating when it is not easy to opt-out.
I don't like seeing unwanted Acronis network traffic and processes, when there should not be any...
i see that TI was signed-in to Acronis; i signed-out... Hopefully i can now stop constantly deleting and re-deleting these unwanted directories.
All Said- Acronis TrueImage is the best backup for enthusiast level users...

Michael, welcome to these user forums.
For any issues with ATIH 2017 please create a New Topic in the Acronis True Image 2017 Forum rather than in this one for the older 2015 product.
The only time that I have seen old folders / directories being recreated in any version of ATIH is when backup files have been deleted manually outside of using the Automatic cleanup rules provided within the application, or where multiple different backup drives are being used.
I would recommend running a Validation of all your existing backup tasks to see if this will resolve this issue by reconciling the Acronis Database records with the actual status of your backup files.
If that doesn't resolve the issue, then you will need to force a rebuild of the Acronis Database.
