True Image WD Eidition instal fails - Install was interrupted

Thread needs solution

I've tried multiple times to install the TI WD edition, each time I get the install was interrupted message.

I've run the acroniscleanup.exe
stopped antivirus and other services
manually clean up the registry (somewhat)

Note I had an old trial version of TI Home which I uninstalled prior to trying to install the TI WD edition.

Attached is the installation log.

Thank you,
Charles

Hello Charles,

Thank you for posting, I will be happy to help. Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.

According to the log file provided, the program has failed to check the hard drive. Please make sure that a Western Digital hard drive is attached to the system, you are unable to install the program if the system doesn't have a Western Digital hard drive.

You can also contact WD support for a further troubleshooting.

If the provided information is not clear or if you have any other question do not hesitate to post them and we will be glad to answer.

Thank you.

I have the same problem. I have TWO Western Digital internal hard drives (one SATA, one EIDE) and the WD Acronis product refuses to install, saying that I must first install a WD hard drive.

When I run WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostic, it properly identifies the two WD drives, gives their S/N, and even lets me run SMART tests on them.

When I attached a third WD EIDE drive via USB, Acronis WD Edition now tells me to remove the 'corrupted' old version of the program, but I've never installed Acronis on this PC, so there is no old copy to remove.

When I contacted WD for help, they referred me to Acronis. Now Acronis refers us to WD. This seems to be the product that fell behind the radiator and neither company wants to support it.
