trying to recover, keep getting "not enough free space.." error

Thread needs solution

I am having a lot of difficulty doing a recovery my system with a rescue/bootable disk. It is Acronis v11. I am using win7 64bit. The size of my hard drive is 320Gb (seen as 298Gb).

To put it simply, I keep getting the error "There may not be enough free space on the system partition to boot up your operating system after recovery".

Perhaps I don't understand the terms "Free space before", "partition size" or "Free space after"? With win7 you have to give these 3 values to each of the "system reserved partition" and the "system partition". I know I have to not select the "MBR Track 0" because am recovering to a different drive of the same size.

It's VERY VERY confusing. I remember the old days of acronis, you simply selected backup, then clicked where it was going, then you were off - nice and simple!!

Now it's terribly complicated.

The 'used' (whatever that means with respect to before, free, after - who knows?) space on my system reserved says 25.46Mb.

I am trying to recover back on to an identical 320Gb hard disk.

Please can someone help.

The system partition is 285Gb with 298Gb capacity.
