Turning on DEP helps Acronis 2011 NSB.
Thread needs solution
For those of you with a 32-bit OS, make sure that Data Execution Prevention (DEP) is enabled. (Why I disabled it long ago, I will never know..sigh) NSB with DEP enabled runs much, much better! The afcdpsrv.exe process will (at least, for me) crash once or twice per day followed by the Vista DEP popup, but I have configured the Acronis Nonstop Backup Service to restart in the Services panel after a 5-minute delay (select the Recovery panel.) I also have the NSB service set to "manual" and start it via the Task Manager 30 minutes after my daily 3 AM reboot. So far my NSB backup has lasted over 2 weeks! (Knock on wood...)
