Two days remaining for trial version of True Image 2012, now what?

Thread needs solution

With two days left for my trial version of True Image 2012, I was just about to purchase a serial number. Now, I see True Image 2013 has been issued. Can someone please tell me how I should proceed?

Your best bet would be to uninstall the 2012 trial, then download and install the 2013 trial. You can export your settings in 2012 from the Tools and Utilities tab, and then import them from the same tab in 2013 Trial. I find it is always best to create new tasks after upgrading versions. This would give you 30 more days to try before buying.

Hey, thanks for the response, James F.

That's a little more work than I was hoping for, but OK, I guess. So if I export my 2012 backup settings and import than into 2013, will everything pick up just where they were left off, i.e.: will the versioning of my disk images remain intact?

If all goes as expected. You may still have to reschedule the backups, but you should be able to continue the backups as is. The naming conventions in 2013 are different, so you will see the new naming conventions on any new files created. I still would suggest creating new tasks and pointing the backup destination to a new empty folder once you install the 2013 trial. You can try an install over the 2012 version, but since I have no experience with doing that with the trial versions, I can't say how well that would work.

When I uninstall TIH 2012, I'm asked if I want to:

-- Delete Acronis Secure Zone and distribut its space among partitions

-- Delete NOnstop Backup storages

-- Remove extended capacity disks.

Please advise.

Are you using any of these? Normally you would just check all the boxes and continue.

Is it normal for it to take more than 10 minutes for me to receive a trial serial number by email?

It can vary. Please check your junk/spam folders as well. If you can not get a trial serial number, you can try using a different email account. Be sure to register your serial number on the Acronis site to be able to download the bootable ISO from there.

DG,

If you have backup chains, you should start new chains with 2013.
