Unexpected behaviour from True Image 2010
Every week I manually make a full backup of my drives and, since storage space is no issue, I usually keep a number of them, ten or fifteen at any given time, and then delete the older ones to make room for the most recent ones.
In the past, when using True Image 10 and 11, the only files that would be listed when I was creating a name for a new backup were those that were actually in the external drive that I was using at the moment, not any others that might have been made to a different external drive.
On the other hand, ALL those xxx.tib files still alive in the particular drive I was using would all be listed there.
To my surprise, I recently noticed these strange facts:
-- The files listed are more or less random names of past backups I made, some of them still alive, others that have been long deleted (even before I started using TI 2010) and still others that are stored in different drives that are momentarily disconnected.
-- To complete the puzzle, actual files that are present and alive in that given drive do not show in the list presented by the Acronis program.
-- However, if I start the steps for a Recovery, two things happen:
-- The list of "Disk backups" shows only the very first .tib file on the external drive;
-- Only after clicking the "Browsing" button is the full list shown.
Does this have to be this way? Does anyone know the cause for the apparent discrepancies and/or whether they serve any useful or otherwise good purpose???
I can't help but keeping longing for my beloved True Image 11...
Thanks for your thoughts.
