uninstall startup

Thread needs solution

I wanted to make a image of one of my HDD on my system and in the process of doing so I have installed a startup sequence that stops the Windows load and tells me to hit enter to load the OS.

How do I get rid of this startup and have windows load on it's own? I went to msconfig and shut down everything I saw Acronis and that didn't help.

Thanks

Hi Sundance2015,

you just need to deactivate Acronis Startup Recovery manager as it is described in this article: https://kb.acronis.com/content/15545

Thank you,

I have the Western Digital version and when I try to do that it tells me I need to buy the full version. How do I get around that? I have a purchased full version ( 2011 Home), can I install that and get to where I need to be or will installing the 2011 version not see the boot loader created by the Western Digital version of Acronis?

Thanks

It depends on the program version your WD OEM edition is based on. In any case I would say that it worth trying. However, you don't have to install Acronis True Image 2011 in Windows. Instead download an .iso image of a bootable media under your account: https://kb.acronis.com/content/4828

Thank you,

Hi,

I d/l and made the bootable disc but once it's up and running I see no palce to address the bootloader issue. Where do I go to turn it off or delete it?

Thanks

Hi Sundance2015,

in this article you can find screenshots: https://kb.acronis.com/content/15545
You need to open "Activating and deactivating Acronis Startup Recovery Manager from Acronis Bootable Media" part.

Thank you,
