Universal Restore: questions
I have read the FAQ on UR, but it doesn't answer these questions:
1. Is UR only available on the bootable CD?
2. When I try to add drivers during the Drivers Manager stage, the folder with known good drivers (.inf" entry, nothing shows when I open the folder. Is this normal?
3. I have been using True Image for some time now and never checked the MBR & Track1 option with no issue. According to the FAQ, you are suppose to check both boxes when selecting what to restore. Why?

Hi Bruce,
1) Yes as far as I know.Why?
2) No , it's not.Did you check the ''Use Universal Restore'' checkbox along the process?
3) It's better so, in case the MBR was either erased or corrupt along the process. But most of the time ,it's going to work without checking it off.Personnaly, I always check it off.

1. I checked the installed program and Universal Restore is available in the 'installed' version contrary to what I believed I read in their FAQ's.
2. If I didn't check the UR, I wouldn't have the option of Drivers Manager. Using the installed program all those folders are still empty!
3. Ok, I'll buy that.
Back to issue two. Why aren't any files showing when I point DM to a folder with .ini files??

Nothing shows in either the installed program or the bootable CD. Folders are empty.
BTW, the modified image doesn't work on another PC with a 07c BSOD error stop message.

Hi Bruce,
Sorry for being so late.I've been sick lately.
The most probable reason why there is nothing showing in issue #2,is that your driver folders have not been extracted in the right format. The driver files should have *.inf, *.sys or *.oem extension .
