Unwanted Incremental Backups

Thread needs solution

In the settings I have Acronis set to "full backup". I also have it set to "do not schedule". I create a full backup, then later these incremental backups appear.

What am I doing wrong? I want to create a full backup when I want it, at the time I want it. I do not want incremental backups or any other thing to happen.

In this picture the original full backup is 29 gigs. The following three incrementals add up to about 39 gigs. These are not scheduled nor wanted.

Thanks,

Jim

Perhaps  you have the backup set as a "scheduled" backup rather than a "non-scheduled" backup.

This link shows the task to be a scheduled task.  Note the top liine showing when the next backup is due.

Most likely, the best fix is to stop using your existing task which is working wrongly, and create a new backup task

with custom settings.  The new task should have a new name and point to a new storage folder or sub-folder location.

This next linik shows how to create a non-scheduled task.

Use this link as a reference on how to create a custom link which creates only full backups--no incrementals . Set the "store number" to whatever number of full backups you want to keep on a rotating basis with the system deletion the oldest full as the newest full is created as a replacement.

GH11. Create Custom Full Backup Scheme w/auto cleanup.
...Store/Keep 4 versions (chains). Use whatever number best fits the individual needs..
