Updating TI2013 : "Error occurred while connecting to the Update server"
In September I installed "True Image 2013 by Acronis" (clean install).
Since, whenever I attempt a "Check for Updates" from the Help menu I get the Acronis popup "Error occurred while connecting to the Update server". Never yet suceeded. See attached screenshot.
Nothing in the Knowledge Base but I see a couple of similar Forum entries for older True Image versions - but no solutions listed.
Any ideas re the cause and how to fix it please???
Regards, Ian J.

I have this problem
I have a copy of Acronis TI Home 2010. I'm try to reinstall it after not using it for a while. I get a notification that there is a newer version available. I click on area and get a message that an "Error occurred while connecting to the update server".
Noting the entry above, I disabled my antivirus and get the same message.
What do I do now?

The quickest thing to do will be to log into your Acronis account and manually download the latest, or in the case of 2010, the last build.
The bonus being you then have the complete installer saved to your drive for future use, rather than the temporary download that is used by th eupdate server.

Dear Colin B
I'm grateful for your response. Should I remove the existing installation prior to installing the latest build?
This is probably not the place for my follow-up question but I'm using my TI 2010 to transfer my laptop image to a 32GB Transcend IDE SSD. Before I transfer the image I get an option to transfer the image and the master boot record (MBR). Should I select both or is there an MBR within the image?
The drive is not recognised by my Dell Latitude D400 but I think this is a BIOS Configuration password which I don't know.

Dickdata,
No, installing a new build of 2010 can be doen over the top of your existing build.
Tick both.
