Updating TIH 2012

Thread needs solution

I am unable to update TIH 2012. I get an error message -- installation failed. another installation is in process -- which is not true. This is the only installation underway. I successfully installed it in safe mode (or so I thought) but it is not working. Attached is my log file from this installation.

I have already tried the cleanup utility. It won't run because I have nothing installed!

I have also searched the forums and have not found anything useful.

Is there a way to manually uninstall TIH or at least disable the pertinent registry entries so that I can reinstall from scratch? Need help here ... Thanks in advance for any help ...

Hello Acronis customer,

Thank you for your post.

Please check Windows add/remove program for Acronis True Image 2012 Home and the Plus Pack. If they are installed, uninstall them and reboot your machine.

After that, please log in to your Acronis web-account and download the latest build. In case of any issue please post a new installation log collected manually and the system report.

It is possible automatic update is not working properly due to a network issue but we will need additional information to understand exactly what happens.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

I recommend downloading build 6131 rather than the later 6154; some folks have had bsod probs with 6154. You'll notice that when you run the 6131 installer, it will first check for any later versions on line and report that there are none ;).

You might need to run the cleaner after you uninstall to be able to install or else the installer may report that a version is already installed and needs to be uninstalled before it can continue.

You can get the cleaner here:

When the cleaner starts, selec option 2 to remove the program; iirc, option 1 is to remove only the scheduler or something like that.
