Upgrade TI11 to TI2009; get endless Windows splash screen

Thread needs solution

I found Revo Uninstaller mentioned on this forum, used it to uninstall TI11; rebooted; turned off firewall & antivirus; installed TI2009, selected "Complete"; rebooted. It usually takes less than a minute to go into Windows, but this time the splash screen kept running and running and running. I let it run for 5-10 minutes; put in the rescue CD; held the power button to shutdown; rebooted and restored my system.

Tried the same thing again: this time I used Add or Remove Programs to uninstall TI11; rebooted; turned off firewall & antivirus; installed TI2009 and this time selected "Typical". Rebooted, no joy.

(Windows XP SP3)

There seems to be an unusual number of users with Sp3 who have problems with True Image and not just with the same version of True Image. If TI 11 is working for you stick with it.

DwnNDrty, I read another post that mentioned a similar problem with TI2010, so, yeah, I'll stick with TI11.

In the many years that I've been using various versions of True Image, this is the first time I've had a problem like this.
