USB rear connection vs USB 3.0 connection on side

Thread needs solution

The User Guide for Acronis 2014 Premium says:
"your computer ports and the required data transfer rate. In many cases the best choice will be an external USB hard drive, especially if your computer supports USB 3.0.
If you plan to use an external USB hard drive with your desktop PC, connecting the drive to a rear connector using a short cable will usually provide the most reliable operation. This reduces the chance of data transfer errors during backup/recovery."

My problem with this is that the USB 3.0 connection is on the side. The USB connection on the rear is designated as "USB Alway On" and is USB 2.0. So which one should I use?

Try the USB 3.0. We often recommend the rear of the case, because other locations may not have direct connection to the USB card, such as front of case or monitor. If your only USB 3.0 ports are on the side, then by all means try them.
