Volume Cloning/German Edition

Thread needs solution

Using WIN XP and TrueImage2013:
Volume Cloning (automatic and manual selection are identical) results in hanging with a 'True Image BUSY- sign(watch with rotating pointers)' after having done the source-selection and trying to get the available target-volumes-list: the available volume list does not appear.
This sub-function cannot be terminated or stopped without shutting down the complete XP(only a Hard Stop(power off) works.
A new installation of True Image 2013 didn't change the picture.

Did you have a previous version of True Image on this PC before you installed 2013?

By the way, you should not Clone from within Windows. It's preferable to Clone from within the bootable Recovery Media. And, Clone is rarely the best option: in most cases, it's better and safer to perform a full disk Backup, and then a Restore as needed.

Hi,
previously Version 8 was installed.
My aim is: Disc1(Part C+D+E:with C containing the OS) has due to disc-HW-problems be replaced with a new and slightly larger disc. The clone was supposed to replace the original boot-system-disc Disc1. Possible?

That goal can be achieved via full disk Backup, and then a Restore.

But, if the drive already has hardware problems, it could be impossible to create a good backup. Run chkdsk or your drive manufacturer's utility to check the drive for errors first.
