want to check if this custom backup scheme will work

Scheme I want is this:
Create full disk backup that is never touched
Then create differential backup ever 2 weeks and only keep 1 copy

Acronis cant do this, Acronis support suggested:

Create a full backup in one folder (first folder)

create a full backup in another + differential backups every 2 weeks
In this second folder setup the scheme to consolidate so I only have
1 differential version at a time.

Then to restore I can use the untouched full disk backup in one the first folder
+ the differential that exists in the other folder at the time I want to restore.

Does not make sense to me I can use this scheme to restore a machine to the state
it was at the time the last differential version was saved.

So I thought I would ask the forum.
