What happens if i am currently using a file.

Thread needs solution

Let say for instance i have Quick books Premier 2012 and Quickbooks POS 9.0

Now i run these on my computer almost all the time the computer is on.

I have setup that true image does a backup everyday at 8pm

Now at that time i still may have these program open there for they have access to the data bases.

I was wondering how does true image handle this to make sure i have a backup of this critical data base ?

Will it still create a new backup of it even thought i am actively using it ?

Acronis takes a snapshot of your disk before beginning the backup, then backs the system up based on the snapshot. The changes you make while still in the file after the snapshot is made will not be included with the backup. I have customers using QB Premier, and we have the same situation as you. Your best bet to insure your QB data is protected and does not have any corruption in the databasae is to have QB do a scheduled backup before the Acronis backup task begins. I have QB do scheduled backups to my backup drive into a folder setup just for that purpose. I have not had problems with Acronis backup and restore and QB even with the data files open, but I like to err on the side of caution, esp. with QB files. These are my results, and only my opinion.
