What is the right option to back up completely?
Hi,
I had my computer reimaged and installed the latest drivers and other applications such as ms office. I would like to back up everything so when recover it, this is the state where I want to be, it would bring to the point with the latest Windows patches, drivers, applications RATHER than reinstalling everything which can take many hours. Is the option BACKUP MY SYSTEM fit for this? with the options:
-sector by sector
-unallocated space
selected?
with also the C: selected and the 'system reserved' for Partition?

Thank you so much Pat, let me go through this document and I'll keep you posted. As for after the bootable media cd recovery, do I need to boot from it? to add those two files you mentioned?

I was describing a basic way to make sure the bootable CD works on your computer. You just need to boot from it, and then choose restore, selected files and folders, select a couple of files (one is enough, in fact) and restore them wherever you want. This will make sure that:
- you can boot your computer on the CD,
- you can use your keyboard, display and mouse to launch and use ATI,
- ATI can see your disks normally,
- your backup is useable.
If I were you, I would also choose restore, whole disk and partitions, and go through the wizard to get familiar with the process. Just don't proceed at the last step! YOu will notice that the drive letters that you see from ATI running from the CD are not the same as in Windows, necessarily. You don't need to correct for that at any step.
