When Non Stop Backup is running Energy Saving Mode is not working

Thread needs solution

Hello,

when Non Stop Backup is running the computer doesn´t change to Energy Saving mode. Is it possible to change this? Or is it necessary to turn Non Stop Backup off?

Thanks

Alexander

P.S. True Image 2010 is running under Windows 7 64 bit

Hello Alexander,

I fully understand the issue you experience with nonstop backup and will try to do my best to explain the source of the issue.

Try these energy saver settings
System Preferences/Energy Saver

Set the "Put the computer to sleep when it is inactive for" as "Never"
Set display sleep slider where you wish and then
Check "Put the hard disk to sleep when possible".

If the issue still persists turn off nonstop backup if it’s not critical for your purposes.

To turn off Acronis Nonstop Backup:

  • Right-click the Acronis Nonstop Backup icon on the tray and click stop

  • Or run Acronis True Image Home 2010, click Backup -> Nonstop Backup and click the icon:

Hello Alexander,

If the issue still persists we will investigate it as soon as we receive diagnostic information which I requested via PM.

Hello Alexander,

I have found that the latest build 6029 of Acronis True Image Home 2010 has the following improvements and issues fix:

  • Fixed system hanging when mounting an image in read-only mode on a computer with PC Tools Spyware Doctor installed
  • Fixed recovery of a large amount of e-mails from a backup
  • Fixed ability to back up to DVD mounted to a folder
  • Fixed progress bar behavior during System State backup
  • Backup does not start anymore after the following actions: "Change schedule -> Do not schedule -> OK"
  • Fixed sorting in e-mail backup
  • Recovery to original location from boot media is enabled
  • Column settings in "Tasks and Log" are kept after restarting Acronis True Image Home 2010
  • Backups to two or more DVDs can be performed again
  • Bookmarks in Internet Explorer 8 do not disappear anymore during operation of Nonstop Backup
  • Program first creates a new backup and then removes the old one now
  • Computer does not enter standby or sleep mode during backup now
  • Fixed backup schedule for creating full backups, in case you want the old backup to be always overwritten
  • Fixed BSOD on some computers after inserting a flash drive

As you can see ability to enter standby mode during backup was an issue and it was fixed.

Let us know if you have any further questions.

Dmitry,

I am also having this issue since I installed Acronis on my Win 7 x64 computer. I installed originally from build 6029. My issues is that my monitor no longer shuts off as set in windows. I have not been able to test any of the other windows power saving modes however I would suspect that they would not work also.

Thanks for your assistance,

James
