When trying to clone a hard disk, NOTHING happens after Proceed!

Thread needs solution

Hi

I am trying to clone a hard drive using the Clone feature but as soon as I choose the destination and click Proceed, Nothing happens! No error message pops up or anything else.

I am using the 2012 version and runing Windows 7 Ultimate.

Here is a link to the suggested Acronis cloning procedure.

Try this procedure and advise if you continue to have issues.

I had gone through all these steps 4, 5 times but it still does not work! As I said in my post, at the last stage when you click Procedd, it goes back to the first window and nothing happens afterwards

Amir,
When attempting the clone, are you booted into the Acronis True Image Recovery CD and performing the clone from the CD? This is the recommended procedure.

If yes, have you tried the manual mode and using the "as is" method as the move method?

If you continue to have issues, consider creating a disk option backup and then restore the backup onto a new disk. This is the equivalent to a clone and a safer alternative to the clone process.

Clone is riskier than Backup and Restore. Truly, almost no one should use Clone. While Clone saves a step and saves a bit of time compared to Backup and Restore, it comes with risks as if you don't do it correctly you can end up with a non-booting system.

Your best course is to make a full disk mode backup, which includes all partitions (even hidden ones), to an external HD. That will include everything: Windows; all your settings; all your installed software applications; all your data; ... everything.

Each backup is saved as a compressed .tib archive. As such, multiple .tib archives may be saved to a single backup drive, allowing for greater redundancy, security and flexibility.

Once a full disk image .tib archive is restored to a drive, the result is the same as if that drive had been the target of a clone done on the date and time that the backup archive was created.

Just had the same problem...

I am using Win7

Did a checkdisk and it found one small error..

After this was fixed it all worked..
