Which ATI version(s) work with Windows 7?
Windows 7 demands that ATI 10 be removed prior to upgrade from Vista. Reinstalling succeeds but startup after reboot is blocked by Win 7 for "compatibility" issues.
What ATI products/versions work under Windows 7?

ATI 2009 build 9796 works here with the RTM Win7 - at least for manual Backup/Restores and using the Rescue CD. I don't do scheduled unattended backups.

This is what I should have said - I just do the manual backup/restore thing too.

Thanks!
As an aside, have you guys seen or heard of any issues with ATI 2009 and USB hub devices? My PC case has a front-panel multi-format card reader plugged into a motherboard USB header. Using the ATI 10 recovery CD, I have to unplug the device from the motherboard or I'd get some sort of linux kernel type crash. But I suppose I can do the 2009 trial version to see if this problem has gone away. Just wondering ...

My desktop (Hp a250e) has a similar card reader at the front and ATI2009 works for me ... manual backup and for exploring the .tib images.

Robert, It depends on the card reader and the cabling of the computer case going to the header. There are cases when using the front panel USB connectors that failures occur and the only way for a good result is to plug directly into the motherboard connector at the rear. It seems that you have struck this problem.

I was just about to post regarding W7 when I saw this post. As an aside I wasn't even aware that the forum had moved from Wilders, sad really as I feel like I've lost a good friend. Anyway back to this thread - ATi 2009 works fine for me with W7 with the exception that you can't mount an image. Bit of a bummer really as we're now only around 8 weeks from full release for W7 so I will be doing a clean install and I then want to transfer all my data progs and apps over from my Acronis full Vista image. I know you can drag and drop but mounting the image would be a better solution. Anyone got any news if this anomaly will be fixed by W7 release date?

I am running ATI Home V10.0.4871 - Im reading on this board that this will NOT run under Win 7. Is this true?
I already tried the upgrade to Home V2010 and didnt like it because they pulled out a feature than I like. What choices do I have...if I want Win 7 - I still own Home V9...
Please advise....Thanks

I have a feeling that the problem with TI 10 is that in the release version of W7 it won't install due to the Microsoft unapproved program thingy.
If it does install, then it is possible mounting an image won't work properly.
The other thing to be aware of is that W7 (and Vista) have a slightly different boot sector format to XP if you have performed a clean install (installing over XP in the case of Vista will leave the disk boot record in XP format). This shouldn't be a problem if you make and restore WHOLE disk images, but may be a problem if you try and restore individual partitions.

To Derek:
It should but it will wipe out whatever is on the drive and put back the XP that you backed up.
