Windows 7 has Generic desktop icon

Thread needs solution

I have a Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit system that I was running Acronis 2012 on. The icons were all fine. I upgraded to 2013 paid version, and the desktop icon is the generic one. I cannot change this icon either.

Anyone else seeing this? I know some programs have issues with their executable's icon, but I figured since 2012 didn't have issues, that 2013 shouldn't either.

Thanks in advance,
Scott

Tried that already, and it did not work. I also tried going into display properties and changing from "Smaller" to "Medium", logging off then back in, and setting it back to "Smaller". That did not work. This is the only program where the desktop icon is the windows "Default". All of my other icons are perfectly fine. Thanks for the input though!

Is this a shortcut to the Acronis 2013 program? If so, try deleting the shortcut, and re-creating it.
On my 64 bit system the shortcut points to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Acronis\TrueImageHome\TrueImageLauncher.exe" and uses the same .exe file for the icon.

ScottB,

I had a similar issue after I installed 2013 on my 64bit physical machine. I right clicked the shortcut, chose properties, change icon and pointed at the C:\Program Files (x86)\Acronis\TrueImageHome\AcronisTibUrlHandler.exe

That solved the issue.
