Windows 7, Thinkpad T400, boot drive 160mb, new backup drive Toshiba 500gb mounted in ultrabay

Thread needs solution

Acronis True Image Home 2011, no errors on drives, Toshiba brand new. Cloning stops after entering 'reboot' phase, receive a "Format Error". Both drives NTFS, Both drives have valid partitions, both drives mounted in laptop. Again, 'to-become' cloned Toshiba Drive D: mounted in ultrabay, and clearly recognized by Win7 OS. Do I need to upgrade to 2012 version of Acronis?

Do the cloning from the recovery CD, put the existing drive in the ultrabay, and the new drive in its target place.

Alternatively, from the recovery CD, do an all-partition disk and partition backup of the existing disk onto an external USB disk, change the disks and do a full restore, with MBR+Track0 and disk signature (preferred method).
