Windows 8 and Acronis True Image 2010

Thread needs solution

Long time TI user here. I know TI 2010 is not supported under Windows 8 but if I upgrade to Windows 8 before I upgrade to a newer version of TI can I use my rescue CD to boot up and make an image copy of a Windows 8 system? Since the rescue CD boots under Linux my assumption is that the image copy process would be more or less be agnostic of the target hard drive O/S.

OK, after poking around I think I can answer this question and it is a big NO because Windows 8 typically uses a GUID Partition Table (GPT) and it sounds like Acronis 2010 may not fully support it (even the rescue CD), unless of course I want to convert the drive to MBR format. Perhaps it is time for me to upgrade to TI 2014. . . . .
