Windows 8 Boot
I applied the hotfix --
And I used the USB Bootable Media that I made with the program AFTER the update.
I restarted the Windows 8 System with the USB Loaded and the screen went black.
If I remove the USB and restart, the computer starts up without issue.
Suggestions?
I am trying to clone the drive to a backup USB Hard Drive (not the bootable media)
I never make it to the True Image Screen
I am using True Image 16 build 5551

Does your system have a CD/DVD drive?

Can you boot to a CD/DVD in it?

Could always try. So - if I make a bootable media using a CD - isn't that the same linux based system that may or may not be supported?

Yes, but it is worth a shot. Just trying to offer suggestions that may help.

Is Acronis True Image 2013 compatible with Win8?

It looks like Windows 8 has an image system built in -

Maybe this will help others as well.

Yes. The boot disk, since it is Linux based, may not support your hardware. The drivers in the Linux based Rescue Media can not be updated. Only a new build of the disk (from Acronis) may contain driver updates.
You may want to try, just for the heck of it, to build a YUMI boot USB bootable flash disk. You can directly add the Rescue Disk .ISO you can create from within True Image, and have the YUMI boot loader start it as an "unlisted ISO".
See the YUMI site here: http://www.pendrivelinux.com/yumi-multiboot-usb-creator/
This will not add driver support, but will use a different boot loader to try and start your system from the USB flash drive.
When creating your YUMI bootable Flash drive, add the True Image .ISO by scrolling to the following in the menu:
—————– Bootable ISOs —————-
•Try an Unlisted ISO
I use YUMI to create the flash drives I use for True Image Rescue Media as an alternative to the USB Flash drive or CD/DVD created from within True Image. Just generate an .ISO, and then use YUMI to add the .ISO to your Flash drive.

The Windows 8 system image creation (backup) program is the same as Windows 7. It is a little difficult to find, but the article you have linked to does a good job of explaining where it is, and how to use it.
