Windows Backup doesn't work after uninstalling Acronis True Image 11

I have bought a new laptop, and installed TI 2011 on it. I want to give the old one to my grandson, so have removed the Acronis program. Now I can't get into Windows Backup, even though I have started the Windows Backup Service and made it auto. I can get into Control Panel, but then clicking on Backup and Restore has no visible effect. Any ideas ? Stan W. Gray
