Windows Explorer does not open backup file
This past weekend I reinstalled Windows 8.1 on a new drive and also installed Acronis True Image 2015. Windows explorer does not open the backup files. Double-click on the files does nothing.
Disk is a regular disk, backup was done on only a few files.
The "Recover Files" in the app does work.
Build 6525.
Any suggestions?

I know Windows Explorer can do it, however, it does not do it for me with a new installation of Windows 8.1 and Acronis True Image 2015.
I have used Acronis True Image for a few years now and never had a problem, until now.

Yes. I used 2009 before. Upgraded this past weekend.
The files restore fine when using th ATI app.
Will it help if I remove 2015, install 2009, then uninstall again and finally install 2015 again?

When win explorer opens a tib, it is acutally using an acronis module. It sounds like the module is not installed in your case.
I'd try in order, a repair and if that didn't do the trick, then uninstall then reinstall. It should be completely compatible with w8.1.
If that didn't work, then I'd consider what you suggest or possibly going righ to using the clean-up utility from acronis and then reinstalling.

I will give it a try tonight.
If I decide to reinstall, do you know how the licensing work? I have a 3-PC license. If I reinstall it again it will be the 3rd time I install it on the same machine. Do you know if it will count as 1? I purchase the 3-PC license because my wife also has a computer with Acronis.

It's fine if its the same machine. If it wasn't the same machine you would get a warning to either deactiviate the license on a manchine or not activate on the new one.

Scott, I uninstalled 2015, installed 2009, uninstalled 2009 and installed 2015 again. That worked.
