Windows hangs when shutting down

Thread needs solution

Hi,

Windows hangs in our 2014 ATI version when we turn off our comuter. The screen displays that Windows is waiting for some background tasks to complete. This only happens when we forget to turn on our external HDD. Because of that the backup fails. The external HDD is access via LAN.

What can we do about that - is there a way to set a timeout or can we somehow force Acronis to exit. Would a update to ATI 2015 resolve that issue?

regards, reinhart

If you are running scheduled backups which is what it sounds like, you can change the scheduled backup to non scheduled and run it manually. That should help. Follow Grover's guides on how to make such a change so that you are successful in doing so.

Hi, but I need to have the Tasks run automatically. Or are you talking about using Widows Scheduled Tasks?

I thought I saw an option that talks about only running the backup if the drive is connected, but I cannot find it now. Anyone?
