Windows runs chkdsk at every boot after file restore

Thread needs solution

ATIH 11 Using the live CD.
I backed up an entire Windows XP hard drive. I guess that's an "image".
Then I restored selected files from this backup into a new folder C:\Old in a Windows Vista or Window 7 computer.

Thereafter, whenever the computer boots it says that there is inconsistency and a chkdsk will be run.

I've run chkdsk \D, I've run HDD Regenerator but nothing seems to get rid of this condition.

What might be going on and how do I fix it?

If you used a disk and partition backup, you have an image

After chkdsk has run, does it run again after the next reboot or does it solve the problem?
