ZIP files seem to be TIB content wirh ZIP extension

Thread needs solution

I am using ATI 2014 build 6614. I have 2 backups configured, which are running fine. "Drive C Partitions" is a disk backup that runs weekly (TIB files). "Drive D Files" is a file backup that runs daily. In the destination, I selected ZIP archive and the files are produced with a ZIP extension. However, I cannot open these ZIP files with any tool (7-zip, Windows, PKZip). Acronis can read them (using restore and look for history).

When I examine these ZIP files with a hex editor, the first 4 bytes are CE 24 B9 A2 - the same header that is in the TIB files that are produced for my disk backup! Typically a ZIP file header is 50 4B 03 04 14.

What's up?

Well Scott, I am learning something here. I will ask Acronis through the MVP forum.

Pat,

Any news? This is either a defect or there is a configuration option I missed to save as ZIP (again, the backup files ARE being created with a ZIP extension).

Best,
Scott

Yes, there is a defect. You have to edit the script to change the setting to the right extension/container.
